Mileage Blocker

A mileage blocker (also called an odometer stopper or CAN blocker) is a small plug-in module fitted behind the instrument cluster. While it's switched on, it pauses mileage recording during testing, for example on a dyno, at a track day or off-road.

Dyno testing, diagnostics, development work, track days and off-road use, where you don't want test miles added to the odometer. It isn't a way to make a road car look less used.

Yes, owning and fitting one is legal in the UK. Using one to misrepresent a vehicle's mileage, for example when selling it or on a lease or finance agreement, is not. Keep a log of any unrecorded miles and tell the next owner.
